We are seeking a Senior Manager, PMO to lead our technical project management office. Reporting to the VP of Platform Operations, you will oversee a group of Lead Project Managers who coordinate and drive alignment in prioritizing and planning our unified product roadmap and priority initiatives. You will also collaborate closely with managers responsible for executing discrete pieces of work across multiple cross-functional and multidisciplinary engineering, product, and science teams to ensure the successful delivery of work that drives value for our users/customers.
You Will:
- Lead the development and implementation of project management methodologies, operating mechanisms, processes, and standards that align with our overall strategy and objectives
- Manage a team of Lead Project Managers (Program Managers) to build and support the execution of processes for prioritizing, coordinating, and driving alignment of the unified product roadmap and priority initiatives across various engineering, product, and science disciplines
- Collaborate closely with Managers, Platform PMO, that lead teams of project managers responsible for driving end-to-end delivery of work across multiple cross-functional teams
- Implement and improve project management and operational practices across the Platform organization to drive delivery of value to end-users
- Provide guidance and support to your team of program/project managers in the areas of project planning, execution, and monitoring for the delivery of high-quality outcomes
- Develop a project management knowledgebase of assets and information, including templates, tools, and best practices, to support program/project managers and ensure consistency across the delivery of work
- Support the team in collaborating with engineering, product, science, and business stakeholders to identify and manage dependencies, risks, and issues that may impact project delivery
- Develop and maintain metrics and reporting to enable effective decision-making at all levels of the organization
- Build cross-functional relationships with leaders across the organization to ensure a collaborative and transparent environment for teams to succeed
You Have:
- 2+ years of experience leading a team of program/project managers in a highly technical, matrixed environment
- Proven experience in developing and implementing project management methodologies within a complex matrixed agile organization
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with stakeholders at various levels across multiple functions
- Ability to make and recommend data-driven decisions
- Experience managing complex projects with cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams, managing dependencies across many concurrent projects
- Experience working in a fast-paced, results-driven startup environment
Nice to Have:
- A degree with an educational background or work experience in a life sciences-related discipline or a technical field such as engineering or computer science
