Tenstorrent is seeking a CPU front end implementation engineer to join our dynamic team. As a front end implementation engineer you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency of our CPUs by iterating through front end CAD flows on multiple process technologies while working closely with core micro-architects to refine CPU core configurations and optimizing PPA.

This role is hybrid, based out of Santa Clara, CA, Austin, TX or Fort Collins, CO


Responsibilities:

  • Perform synthesis and initial place and route for new and legacy designs
  • Drive small independent team to evaluate design QOR across multipleprocess technologies
  • Iterate with core micro-architects to optimize core configurations for best PPA
  • Work with physical design team and core micro-architects to deliver efficient high-performance CPU cores
  • Creation, enhancement and maintenance of front-end CAD infrastructure and reporting tools

Experience and qualifications:

  • BS/MS/PhD in EE/ECE/CE/CS
  • Strong background and experience with high performance OOO CPU microarchitecture
  • Experience and understanding of one or more ISAs - x86, ARM or RISCV
  • Hands-on experience with front end physical design flows (Design Compiler, Genus, Innovus, or ICC / fusion compiler)
  • Experience with functional ECOs
  • Hands-on with scripting (Python, PERL, TCL)
  • Experience with hardware description languages (Verilog, VHDL)
  • Strong problem solving and debug skills

Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
