We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer, Digital - IP Delivery to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering custom Intellectual Property (IP) for our cutting-edge AI processor to our customers. This is an internally focused role, responsible for the full cycle of IP delivery, including configuration, integration testing, encryption, synthesis, and documentation. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in digital design, verification, and synthesis tools, as well as the ability to deliver high-quality IP to internal teams efficiently and accurately.
This role is hybrid, based out of Toronto or Austin, TX.

Responsibilities:
- Subsystem Configuration: Configure the AI processor subsystems tailored to customer requirements for delivery.
- Integration Testing: Develop and execute integration tests for subsystems using SystemVerilog, Python, or C/C++ to ensure seamless functionality and performance.
- Encryption: Handle encryption of the final IP deliveries to protect proprietary designs and customer data.
- Synthesis Constraints: Create and manage synthesis constraints files to guide the design through synthesis, ensuring it meets area, timing, and power requirements.
- Synthesis and Post-Synthesis Verification: Perform synthesis of the IP blocks and assist with post-synthesis validation to ensure the design is implementation-ready.
- Documentation: Generate detailed technical documentation for internal teams and customers, outlining delivery procedures, integration steps, and usage instructions.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in digital design, IP integration, or related field, preferably in AI or processor technologies.
- Strong proficiency in SystemVerilog, Python, and C/C++ for testing and integration.
- Extensive experience with synthesis tools (e.g., Synopsys, Cadence).
- Familiarity with encryption methods for IP delivery.
- Experience with constraints development and timing closure.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with AI processors or advanced CPU architectures.
- Knowledge of IP delivery pipelines and best practices in the semiconductor industry.
- Familiarity with customer documentation standards, although this role is not customer-facing.
Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
