DSP/ML Team Lead

The Basics

  • This is a full-time position.
  • We will show preference for candidates that are located in the Greater Toronto Area and available to work in-office as needed, but will consider those based within the US and Canada.
  • Work hours are flexible, but meetings are typically scheduled between 9 am and 5 pm Eastern Standard Time.

In this role, you'll be expected to:

  • Guide the DSP/ML team in identifying and setting priorities, ensuring alignment with Synex’s overall goals and objectives.
  • Be a core contributor in architecting, building and debugging our signal processing and machine learning pipeline.
  • Develop and implement sophisticated signal processing techniques to process magnetic resonance data, such as preprocessing techniques, denoising, MRI signal reconstruction, and filtering.
  • Develop and implement machine learning models to accurately quantify low SNR magnetic resonance signals.
  • Employ density matrix simulations to authenticate and corroborate experimental outcomes derived from NMR studies, ensuring accuracy and reliability in our research findings.
  • Act as a key technical liaison with other teams.
  • Partner with Software Engineering to transition DSP algorithms from ideation to functional code in the final product, blending research and practical application to ensure seamless device integration
  • Thoughtfully guide and grow a team of high-performing scientists and engineers, focusing on a blend of deep subject matter expertise, sharp problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative work ethic.

You might be right for this role if you have:

  • Demonstrated experience in technical leadership within the field of digital signal processing.
  • Proficiency in writing efficient, clean, and documented code in MATLAB and Python.
  • A solid understanding of machine learning principles and techniques
  • A track record of working within industry standards and navigating regulatory environments
  • The ability to mentor team members, drive initiatives, and articulate complex DSP concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience cultivating cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience in biomedical research and/or industry.
