Who We’re Looking For

Do you love creating YouTube videos and working with social media? Do you have a passion for brainstorming creative ways to shoot a video and tell the brand story? Then we are looking for you!

Nanoleaf is looking for a self-starting Marketing Content Creator to create short video content for YouTube and social media to tell our story to different target markets, and to build a strong Nanoleaf community on social media.

Our ideal candidate has social media management experience, a lot of creative ideas, has experience shooting and editing videos from start to finish, is a natural on camera, and is great at working independently but can also work with others when working in a team.

What You’ll Do

The Marketing Content Creator will be responsible for developing the social media strategy, and creating outward facing content to best represent and build the Nanoleaf brand. You will lead the charge on the ideation, storyboarding, shooting, editing and posting of the video content that goes on our social media channels, including educational content and tutorials.

You will also be responsible for maintaining our community image online by engaging in customer conversations via our social media channels.


This role reports to the Director of Marketing and Creative Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute an effective social media strategy
    • Manage our social media calendar
    • Plan around product launches, marketing campaigns, promos and other key events
    • Grow and engage our following by creating content that encourages likes, shares, comments and saves.
    • Do research and stay up to date on the latest trends, viral concepts, and social media best practices.
    • Gather insights and track performance of our social media content/strategy.
  • Plan, create, and feature in unique and compelling videos for our YouTube channel on a weekly basis (DIY/hacks, event interviews/documentaries, tutorials, etc.).
  • Create troubleshooting tutorial videos of common support-related issues.
  • Create retail supporting videos to showcase use-cases of our products as needed.
  • Create Instagram and TikTok content on a daily basis
  • Manage community conversations on social media channels.
  • Stay in the loop of upcoming marketing campaigns/promos and find creative ways to push this on social media channels.
  • Host and be the face of our videos and live streams.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

  • Ability to successfully produce & film short videos/ads/projects required
  • Ability to script, plan, shoot and edit engaging and visual media; Excellent editing is a must.
  • Knows how to use Premiere Pro or similar video editing software.
  • Can work a DSLR camera proficiently
  • Excellent creativity and story-telling skills
  • An understanding of marketing and social media strategy
  • Desire for continuous improvement & learning
  • Live streaming and on-camera experience
  • This position is based in Toronto, and the person is expected to and must be willing to work 2 days per week in our Toronto HQ Office
