Role: We are looking for a Quantum Algorithms Lead, who will supervise and contribute to the technical development of algorithms and applications for Entropica’s internal Optimisation Suite. In this position you will combine hands-on use of today’s quantum hardware, together with research on how to use large fault-tolerant devices for real-world optimisation problems.
In general, you will make us even better at quantum computing.
Your Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will involve all of the following:
Translation of internal and customer use cases to quantum algorithms, estimation of resources.
Prototype relevant / promising ideas in code, both on simulators and QPUs.
Contribute to and improve Entropica’s strategy for accessing and using quantum hardware.
Identify novel algorithmic components and workflows for Entropica’s technology stack, bridging the gap between theory and development.
Reading scientific literature and presenting complex ideas to the team.
Contributing to scientific publications, patents and whitepapers.
Our Ideal Candidates: To help you assess if you would be a good fit for the position, this is a blueprint of the minimum skills our ideal candidate has:
You have a PhD (or equivalent experience) in quantum information, physics, computer science, or a closely related discipline.
A record of publications in quantum information, algorithms and/or quantum optimisation.
Experience of scientific programming, and/or quantum programming languages such as Qiskit or Cirq.
Excellent communication skills and written technical English.
Working knowledge of quantum error correction schemes.
Working knowledge of (discrete, combinatorial) optimisation, and/or other areas of applied mathematics.
Experience of using real quantum computers.
How to apply & Hiring process 👩🏻🏫
We commit to reviewing your application within two weeks:
If we think you are a good fit, we will get back to you to organise a first brief call.
If the call is positive, we will ask you to solve a task related to the job's scope. The task is valuable for us but ideally for you too, so you can understand if this is your dream job!
1. The last step after the task will be presenting your work, ideas and vision for the dream. We call it 'The vision talk'. This discussion is the best way for you to meet everyone else and share your goals and expectations.
While we organise the call, we will also ask you for references of people who are familiar with your work and persona.
