Manager, Sales Development.
Location: San Francisco (Hybrid)
Job Description:
As the Manager, Sales Development at Cohere, you will lead a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) in driving the growth of our business. Your responsibilities will include:
Leadership: Providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) to ensure they meet and exceed their goals.
Strategy Development: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Product, and Partnerships, to develop and execute strategies to maximize pipeline generation and drive revenue growth.
Process Optimization: Continuously refining and optimizing the sales development process to improve efficiency and effectiveness, from prospecting and lead qualification to booking demos for the Account Executives.
Performance Monitoring: Monitoring team performance metrics, such as call/email activity, lead conversion rates, and pipeline contribution, and taking proactive steps to address any gaps or areas for improvement.
Training and Development: Conducting regular training sessions and workshops to equip SDRs with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to succeed in their roles.Collaboration: Working closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to align on messaging, target accounts, and outbound campaign strategies to drive pipeline growth.
Reporting and Analysis: Generating regular reports and analyses to track key performance metrics, identify trends, and provide insights for decision-making and strategy refinement.
Customer Engagement: Occasionally participating in introductory customer calls to provide a company overview and support the sales process as needed.
Qualifications:Experience: 5+ years of experience in sales development or a related field, with minimum 2 years in a leadership or management role at a Software or Cloud technology company.
Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Sales Acumen: Strong understanding of sales processes, methodologies, and best practices, particularly within the SaaS industry.
Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to think strategically and develop actionable plans to achieve business objectives.
Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing data, identifying trends, and deriving insights to inform decision-making and strategy development.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Team Player: Collaborative mindset with a track record of working effectively across teams to drive results.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, with a high tolerance for ambiguity and uncertainty.
